General idea of being eco-friendly and environmentally conscious has led the humanity to efficient, but soulless stuff like Toyota Prius or even G-Wiz. Nowadays things are getting a little more excited with things like Tesla Model S P85 and BMW i8. Even grand-masters of automotive went hybrid (but, of course, for a bit different reasons) – Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1. But how about some retro touch?
Apparently, this came to minds of several guys in Silicon Valley in 2010, who decided to start up the company called Renovo, The goal was to create an electric sportscar with retro looks and the latest technologies underneath the gorgeous body. The base model can be identified without any doubts – Shelby Daytona Coupe. This is factory-modified Daytona CSX9000 with all modern goodies.
Engineers from Renovo added an electric drivetrain – twin-sequential motors that drive rear wheels with the furiosity of 500 hp and more that 1350 Nm of torque! This propels 1475 kg Coupe from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3,4 secs! Although the car is not equipped with a huge Tesla-style battery pack and will run out of juice after approx. 160 kms, recharging will take only 30 min thanks to high current supported by the system.
This lovely package will cost about $530 000 and is going to be available from the beginning of the next year with deliveries to start in late 2015. Get your lunch money and reserve your place in line!
